Education is never neutral

Reformed Perspective magazine reported that there is a quote circulating the Internet, commonly attributed to Dr. R.C. Sproul (but which they haven’t been able to trace directly to him), that declares the inherently value-laden nature of education. It is worthy of reflection for all Christian parents, as they consider the end of a school year and plans for the beginning of a new one, as the Lord allows:

“There is no such thing as a neutral education. Every education, every curriculum, has a viewpoint. That viewpoint either considers God in it or it does not. To teach children about life and the world in which they live without reference to God is to make a statement about God. It screams a statement. The message is either that there is no God or that God is irrelevant. Either way the message is the same.”
