CViE Conference 2025 – Salt & Light in Education
Christian Values in Education is pleased to invite you to our 2025 Conference. On this page you can find information about the conference programme, registration, a new venue for this year and how you can volunteer to help on the day. Check back regularly for further updates. All arrangements subject to the Lord’s will.

27 September 2025 @ 10:15 am – 4:15 pm
Stopsley Baptist Church, Luton, LU2 7XP
Volunteers Needed
To ensure the smooth running of the conference, we are seeking volunteers to help in the crèche or with one of the activity sessions in the afternoon. We would request that if you hope to take advantage of these that you do sign up for one of the slots available. Sign-up is via a simple online form. Thank you!
Conference Theme
The theme of the 2025 CViE Conference is about being Salt and Light in Education.
We live in an increasingly broken world and a culture that, sadly, has few genuine answers to the problems it encounters. As Christians, we are in a unique and privileged position: we have the gospel, a message of hope, and real answers to both the spiritual and practical challenges our society faces. Among the younger generation, there is a shocking ignorance of the Bible and the Christian faith, and across education there many negative influences. What the UK needs in 2025 is a return to God, a rediscovery of its Christian heritage, and a reshaping of our culture according to a Biblical worldview. Mission is one of the great callings of the church, and the world of education is one of the most critical mission fields.
Conference Sessions & Speakers
We are pleased to announce an engaging line up of speakers:
- James Mildred from CARE (care.org.uk) will open the conference with a talk on the practical realities of Being Salt and Light in a Secular World, reflecting on both education and the broader culture.
- John Denning from the Christian Institute will provide an update on the significant Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill currently progressing through Parliament. He will highlight both positive elements and areas of concern for Christians.
- Alun Ebenezer, Headmaster of Caldicot School in Monmouthshire, will address the question: Is There a Place for Christianity in Education?
There will be separate sessions for children and teens – see the conference Programme below for details.

Book Vouchers, Resources & Exhibitors
This year we will once again run our popular “Cultivate a Reading Habit” scheme, providing each school-age child with a £10 book voucher to use at the bookstalls.
A wide range of Christian resources will be available from a variety of exhibitors. Currently confirmed as attending are: Christian Bookshop Ossett (inc. Gospel Standard Publications), Day One Publications, Biblical Creation Trust, Creation Ministries International, Christian Institute, Truth in Science, Valley School.
Conference Venue
For a number of reasons, we have decided to move the 2025 conference to a new venue. It will be held at Stopsley Baptist Church, Luton, LU2 7XP. This excellent venue offers a large auditorium, additional breakout space, a purpose-built crèche, plenty of parking, and the benefit of CViE being the sole users of the building for the day. We recognise this change may make travel easier for some and more difficult for others. However, we believe it remains a reasonably central and accessible location and trust it will prove very suitable.
Parking
Plenty of free parking for the conference can be found at Stopsley High School, a short distance further down the road beyond the church where the conference is being held. Note that parking at the venue itself is very limited and will be reserved for those with disabilities and conference exhibitors.
Refreshments & Lunch
Hot and cold drinks will be provided free of charge throughout the day. Note: There is no food catering available at the venue. Please provide your own picnic lunch.
