New Resource! Children’s & Teen’s Books – Online Review Library
We are excited to launch a new CViE initiative this summer – an online library of short, fact-based reviews of children’s/teen’s books.
For this project to thrive, we need your support and contributions. If you’d like to get involved, please read on…
Finding suitable books for our children can be a challenge, especially for avid readers. Bookshops offer a vast selection of titles—but are they all appropriate? Many contain bad language, unbiblical ideas, or questionable themes that Christian parents may prefer their children not to encounter, or would want to approach with them in a guided way. On the other hand, there are many excellent and wholesome books available—so how do we find them?
How can we know what a book contains without reading it ourselves? And, it’s often simply not practical to preview every title.
This is where the CViE community can help – by all contributing to a library of book reviews, we can cover a much more extensive selection.
We recognize that different families will have different standards and sensitivities. Therefore, these reviews are not intended as endorsements or warnings, but rather as objective summaries. Our goal is to present factual information about each book so that parents can make informed decisions based on their own values and situations.
You’ll find a dedicated section on our website where the book reviews are posted. Right now, the collection is small, but with your help, we hope it will grow quickly. Reviews can be searched and filtered by various categories, and there’s also an online form where you can easily submit your own reviews to CViE.
We hope and pray this resource will become a valuable tool for many families.
