Lovewise Annual Conference, March 2021

Christian Values in Education attended the Lovewise Annual Conference held on Saturday, 20 March 2021 10.00am – 3.30pm via Zoom. The Conference included an update on the work of Lovewise and presentations that are relevant to Christian parents and those involved in education.
Cheating our Children: how our culture betrays the true interests of children and young people – Dr Sharon James who is Social Policy Analyst for The Christian Institute, and author of several books, including ‘Gender Ideology: What do Christians Need to Know?’ which was reviewed by CViE in September 2020
Relationships Education in primary schools: a parent’s experience and wider reflections – Matthew Seymour. Matthew (Seymour) and his wife Naomi featured in the national press for their stand they made in withdrawing their children from relationship education due to the content of the Warwickshire County Council “All about me” was being used in the school that their children attended. The Evangelical Times published in September 2019 an interview with the Seymours “Thinking the unthinkable: Parents withdraw children from a week of school” which provides an account of their experience at the time.
Transgender: controversy and debate – Dr Julie Maxwell is a paediatrician who works part-time for Lovewise and in addition is a trustee of the Family Education Trust and a contributor to the recent Truth in Science DVD “The Transgender Agenda”.
