‘Fight for Christian freedom to disciple our children intensifies’: Christian Concern
CViE would draw our supporters’ attention to an important warning sounded from Steve Beegoo, Head of Education at Christian Concern, regarding alarming recent developments in the opposition to Christian education in the UK – ‘Fight for Christian freedom to disciple our children intensifies’.
He sets out five signs of what he terms “the spiritual battle to hinder children from receiving Christ and his ways for their lives”, and these include:
- ‘Egregious bill’ – Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill amendments include powers for local authority officers to have right of access to the home.
- ‘Raids’ – Ofsted inspector police-style raids on home educators who gather to learn together.
- ‘VAT’ – the imposition of VAT onto school fees, leading to the closure of schools.
- ‘Gender questioning’ – Schools are still supporting and even encouraging the social transition of children within their schools, outside the knowledge of their parents.
- ‘Property tax’ – In addition to the VAT, the new property tax on schools is now also causing the closing of small, low-cost Christian schools.
These are dystopian developments, and ought to cause concern for all who know that the truth has an implacable and relentless enemy.
