Praying for Schools – This is Christian Institute Week of Prayer 2024
This week (Sunday 28th April to Saturday 4th May) is the Christian Institute Spring 2024 Week of Prayer. Focusing on a different area each day of the week, prayer topics include our national leaders and government, the sanctity of life, free speech and conversion therapy. It can be a helpful way to focus our prayers and praises on specific points.
You can download a leaflet with prayer points here.
On Wednesday, the topic for prayer is focused on schools. Prayer points highlighted by the Christian Institute are:
- Giving thanks that draft Government RSE guidance steers English schools away from affirming a child’s belief that they are the opposite sex;
- That the guidance is not watered down, that it is fully implemented, and for its positive aspects to be replicated across the rest of the UK;
- That the Government issues improved guidance on sex education in England in time for the next school year;
- With thanksgiving that so many people have raised concerns over NI sex education. Pray that future guidance continues to allow parents to withdraw their children;
- That the final version of revised sex education guidance better recognises the importance of marriage and family;
- That children would hear the Gospel in school and be protected from ungodly teaching.
We would encourage all our supporters, in their own way, to join in prayer for our schools, the wider world of education, Christian teachers and educational workers, and above all our children, that they would be kept safe amidst the ongoing battle for their hearts and minds.
We are encouraged that the Lord is a prayer hearing and answering God.
