D-Day and Prayer
As the nation remembers D-Day, 80 years ago, CViE reminds our supporters of some marvellous instances of the Lord’s working for the good of our nation.
You can receive a free copy of That Almighty Hand, on the how the Lord appeared for this country in World War II and how the Mighty Hand of God overruled in world events (from a stirring talk given by the late Mr R Warboys).
The booklet includes the wording of broadcasts made by King George VI during the Second World War, an additional appendix on General Sir William Dobbie and a ‘further reading’ list from Christian sources.
A print copy of this attractive booklet is available free of charge, as are all of our publications. (available online here)
You may also be interested in “The Miracle of Britain’s Survival”, written from a Christian perspective in 1943 by Hugh Evan Hopkins who was, at the time of writing, the vicar of Holy Trinity, Redhill, Surrey, England. The booklet provides a contemporaneous, first-hand account of the first four years of hostilities during World War II, and highlights the many instances when the ‘intervention of God’ could not be explained by circumstance or ‘chance’. A print copy is available free of charge, as are all of our publications. (available online here)
