The Association of Christian Teachers exists to support Christians working in education. ACT is a membership organisation that offers professional and spiritual support to Christians engaged in teaching or concerned about education in the UK.
ACT’s ministry has developed over its 50+ years, and can be summarized by three areas of focus – connect, resource, influence. ACT unites Christians from every area of education to support one another and share best practice, gives Christians in education tools to be effective ambassadors for Christ, and provides comment on education issues from a Christian perspective, working with partner organisations to deliver training and influence policy.
The work of ACT is increasingly important as Christian worldviews are marginalized in educational institutions, and many teachers feel isolated and voiceless. ACT seeks to help its members find their voices in these different contexts, and to equip them to function effectively in their employment. ACT offers an online community platform, ‘sectional’ networks for career stage, professional responsibility or educational interest, events and resources (including The Journal, a termly publication).
